Um caso de alta miopia, submetido a cirurgia por descolamento de retina com aplicação de uma banda circular que, ao ser ajustada, empurrou a parede do globo ocular em direção ao centro–endentação.
O centro da imagem mostra o polo posterior do globo ocular sendo visível um conjunto de alterações da miopia patológica.
As zonas mais claras correspondem a múltiplos focos de atrofia da retina e da coroide.

[Myopic chorioretinopathy with 360 encircling band – wide field retinography]
A case of high myopia that underwent retinal detachment surgery with the implantation of a silicone encircling band. This band pushes the eye wall to the center – endentation.
The central part of the image shows the posterior pole of the eye with changes induced by pathological myopia.
The brighter areas correspond to regions of retinal and choroidal atrophy.
